Camping..and Miracle Popcorn

Okay I cant say I contributed to this popcorn all that much but they were all very pleased with themselves that they made this popcorn with tin foil and a fire. They made a little pouch and poured the microwave popcorn into it and then rested it by the fire and waited til it popped. They were all so excited when they heard the first few pop and even more when they opened it up and it was so delicious! They called it Mircale Popcorn!

Tyson had been golfing early that day. He played 36 holes and it was one of the nicest days we have had all year, hence he is a little sunburned!

This weekend the Hammonds and Janelle and her friend kirsten and Tyson and I went camping up American Fork Canyon. Tyson and I didnt actually stay the night so I dont know if you can really say we camped, but we still went up and had tin foil dinners, played games, and roasted marshmallows. We only have a tent that we got for out wedding and its still in the box, but we have no sleeping gear, so maybe next time. Chris brought his bolo ball set and I think that is my new favorite game I get really into it. If you dont know what it is you can see a picture of them in the back of this last picture. Its made out of PCP pipe and you have two golf balls with a string attached in the middle and you throw them and try to get them to land on the bars and each bar is 1, 2, or 3 points! I'm not sure why I like it so much but its so fun! On saturday Tyson and I went to the Utah state track meet and hung out there pretty much all day. It was fun to see all the relays and just be outside and finally enjoy some nice weather and even get a little tan. I am so glad the weather is getting nice and all I want to do is be outside all day!

Couldnt ask for more

Last thursday Tyson went up to Ogden with some friends of his to watch a baseball game so on they way up I had him drop me off in Salt lake and I met up with Brians newly Fiance and sister in law to be Becky! We had so much fun together, we were at the gateway mall for like 4 hours and didnt even realize how fast the time had flown by. I seriously could not ask for a better sister in law and I am so excited to have her in our family. I feel like I have already known her my whole life. Since Brian is in Alaska this summer she doesnt get to see alot of our family, so in a few weeks her and I are flying to Oregon for Chelseas graduation and I am so excited to spend the trip with her and get to know her even better!

Family Weekend

This last week my Mom and Sister Chelsesa came to visit. I took a few days off of work so I could spend all the time I could with them while they were here, and it still wasnt enough time for me. The older I get the more i wish i lived alot closer to my family. While my mom was here I also spent alot of time with my brother Brian, who lives here, and his new fiance Becky. They just got engaged a few weeks ago and are getting married the end of Octoboer. I could not ask for a better sister in law and it was so fun hanging out with you guys and getting to her better. I even went and helped them take engagement pictures. I was so sad when I had to drop of my Mom and Chelsesa at the airport, Unfortuantly I didnt think to carry my camera around much so we only got these few pictures. Thankfully though we are going to Oregon in a month for Chelsea's Graduation so I will get to see the whole family again!

Easter!

Amber and I being domestic

Ever Since I was a kid we always celebrated Easter with Amber and Janelle and their family and other family and friends, usually about 30 people and kids, would have a huge easter egg hunt in the park and i dont know how it ever got started but we always had a Pinata too. I really wanted to go home this year because all my family was going to be there and it was kind of like a little family reunion but of course since we live so far away it wasnt really an option. I did however get to spend Easter with Amber and Chris and Janelle and Friends. We all brought a dish and everything was so delicous. The Pinata was hilarious. I was the only one who could not figure out where I was, all the voices clashed together and I had no sense of direction. When I hit the side of the house the first time Janelle cheered me on and so I thought I hit the jackpot, so i swung again! Everytime I watch this video I cant stop laughing. There is nothing better than things that make you feel like a kid again. Oh and Tyson was there during all the festivities but he usually stays away from the camera, thats why he is never in this blog.

Like a whole new home...

I have wanted this picture of the Portland temple since I first saw it over a year ago at Deseret Book. So last year I was supposed to get it for Christmas as a gift from my parents. My parents didnt know exactly which one it was or where to find it so they just wrapped up a little card in a box that said that was my gift and when I got back to Utah i could go and pick it out. So when I got back to Utah afte Christmas break i went to Deseret Book and I guess i had never looked at the price tag before but it was $300!! I called my mom and told her and she had no idea it was that expensive either and told me that is more than they wanted to spend. So my mom said they would get it for me for Christmas and my Birthday which was in June. So I was waiting for June to get the picture so that when my birthday came i wouldnt be disapointed and felt like i had already spoiled my present and i would have something to look forward to. Well during the few weeks before conference the picture went on sale (20% off) which wasnt an amazing deal, but it was better than $300. Well it was the night before conference and the sale was going to end so I went to Deseret Book and it was packed for "girls night out" so I thought i would just go home and order it online, but when i got online the Portland Temple was available. So i googled the artists name and not only did I find my picture, but it was the SAME exact picture Deseret Book was selling for $300 and mine was only $179 (and that was the regular price) plus i got free shipping! Below is a picture of the final product! Sorry that turned out to be quite a long story.

I was so excited when my picture actually came and I got to redecorate my living room. Since the picture didnt take up as much space on the wall as the picture I had there before I had to get some accessories to spruce up the wall a little bit, and then of course some pillow and other things to tie it all in. I love walking into my house now cause it feels like a whole new place!

My Mom and Chelsea are coming out to visit in a few weeks for a family friends wedding, which I am doing the flowers for, So i am looking forward to both of those. I guess thats all I really have to post about now. Just thought I would do a little update. Hope you all have a great week.

1 Year!!

This weekend was our 1 year annivesary. I know everyone says it goes so fast, but i felt like it was just perfect. Not too fast but not too slow. We made alot of memories together over the last year. I love remembering the songs and smells of when we first moved into our apartment and unpacking our stuff and starting our lives together. We have done alot of fun things together over the last year...we went on a cruise for our honeymoon to the caribbean, we went to Hawaii, Oregon, Idaho, and many trips to Wyoming, and this weekend we went to Moab. I had always wanted to go but I had no idea it would be so cool! I was seriously in aw of the huge rocks and arches and it really just made me feel a sense of how we are just one small part in this great big earth. The weather was about 65 which felt amazing after being cooped up all winter. It was so fun to get away and spend time together and it makes me so anxious for SUMMER. I am so grateful for Tyson and all the things we have been blessed with and experienced over the last year and I look forward to forever with him! Love you babe

Ode to Dan

As most of you know my Youngest brother Daniel is on his mission in the Philipines and I was reading his latest letter and It just makes me realize how much I miss him. I miss his humor and quarky personality. He is doing good but says the language is really hard. He actually doesnt speak the same language they teach in the MTC. Just reading about his struggles and trials makes me just proud of what is he doing and how much sacrifice and patience it take for a 19 year boy to do what he is doing. I am proud of him and Love him

Valentines Day

Well the picture of us isnt actually from Valentines Day but it is pretty much impossible to get a picture of the two of us without Tyson making some clown face so this is one of our engagement pictures.

We celebrated Valentines on Friday, I made some flowers for some guys at Tysons work and Tyson had me make an extra one without me knowing and he brought it back home to me! Then we had Cafe Rio, watched a movie and had Fondue. It seems Tyson and finally learned what you are supposed to do on Valentines. Ever since we started dating we usually end up getting into a fight on Valentines, mostly because I always have higher expectations than someone should really have for Valentines, but this year he done good! We had a great Valentines. Thanks babe..I Love you.

Cha-Ching!

When I was in high school i worked at the Dollar Tree my senior year for about 2 or 3 months. A few months ago my mom called me and told me we got something in the mail saying that an employee was suing the company and depending on when and how long you worked there I would get part of the settlement $200-$400. Well I figured I would get $200 since i probably didn't make more than even $400 dollars when i worked there and I thought who knows if I would even get something anyways. Well a few months past and i kind of forgot about the whole thing until my mom called me hysterical last night and told me that something came in the mail again and this time it was a check!!!......Not for $200, not for $400, but for $1000!!! Its like a dream come true. Every time I go to get the mail i always think about how great it would be if there was a check for me that was totally random and unexpected instead of just bills and junk mail....and it really happened!

Bad only getting worse

This Morning started out bad....and only got worse. We slept in, or atleast I did, until about 9. Tyson went to go play basketball at 10 and I was supposed to go get a facial at 11. So about 10:30 I got ready and left. Looked in my purse about half way up the walk way to get my keys...and they were inside the house, which I just locked! So since our landlords live upstairs i called him to have him come unlock it. He didnt answer, so i thought i would just knock on their door instead. They have a sign over their door bell that says please knock because they have a little baby. So i knock on the door and after about a minute, no one came. So i knocked on the door and wait another minute and still nobody came. I could hear people inside so i said screw it and i rang the doorbell. After about another minute two kids come look out at the blinds at me and waved and then ran to tell their mom i assumed. About 5 minutes went by and STILL nobody came to the door, so i rang it again. FINALLY the nanny answered the door but she didnt have a key and told me that our landlords were busy and could not come to the door. So i waited outside in the cold, I even climbed down the window well and try to break in through the window to no avail. Finally my landlord called me back after baout 20 minutes and unlocked it. By that time it was 11 so i hurried and drove away. Went about 2 blocks.....and you guessed it I GOT PULLED OVER!!!!!! If i hadnt been so distracted about how late i was and how i had locked myself out and how freezing cold i was maybe i would have seen the cop sitting there with his radar. So i got a ticket for $90 bucks! Sweet morning. I did still get to have my facial but it was hard to relax after such a sucky morning.

Later that evening we went to Sports authority and bought a pull up bar and some resistance bands. Tyson and I are going to start the P90X program and start working out! I am so sick of being soft and lazy! So maybe after I see some results i'll post pictures but until then that would be just too embarassing. I can do about 2 pull ups right now and only like 2 push ups haha. I am so pathetic. We are excited to get in shape though...or atleast we hope.

Welcome 2009

I know this is a little late but I got my camera cord back and I just had to blog! yay! This is from new years. They always have a new years eve party in my parents stake and well...I wouldnt say they are rockin'. So we decided to make some fun of it! We wanted to wear some of my moms old 80's prom dresses but we couldnt find any, so we settled for some of my old prom dresses and added some special touches. Everyone thought we were nuts and kept staring at us but we atleast had fun! Plus it was nice to know I could still fit into my high school prom dress after 5 years. Booya!

Black Bouquet

December was a great month for Weddings and this turned out to be possible one of my favorite bouquets yet. Its black bacarra roses, tinted calla lilies and stephanotis. The reception was on new years eve and so the theme was black and silver! It turned out so gorgeous and it was so fun to make! Thanks Janna!

Christmas Day

Brian Sleeping...if you look on the floor you can see that we all got Bananas in our stocking...oh yum!

(Which in my opinion, New Years is SO overated!) Christmas day we just relaxed and played games and ate lots of food. Christmas is also my youngest sisters Birthday. So Happy Birthday Anna. It was so nice to have a break and I am sad its almost over....

We Had the Missionaries over for dinner at my parents house while we were in Oregon and it brought back a sweet memory for Tyson. He Loved having to do his sweet side part. What a stallion

Winter Wonderland

For Christmas this year Tyson and I went to my parents house in Oregon. We were orginally going to leave Monday night and drive through the night to get there on Tuesday morning. When we heard there were going to be several bad snow storms we thought it might be wise to leave early. So we left Sunday morning early and made great time up until Boise. We saw about 9 cars flipped over on the side of the road, one of the accidents we even pulled over and helped the guy get out of his car before the paramedics got there. It was pretty scary! After Boise the snow and weather was so bad we had to go about 35-40 miles the rest of the way. We drove for about 13 hours and then had to stop at my aunt and uncles house in Bend, Oregon (about 3 hours away from my parents house) to spend the night and drove the rest of the way the next morning. Total it took us about 17 hours (with normal road it takes about 12). Oregon has had the worst snow storm its seen in about 40 years. Although its gorgeous through the mountains, its not really that fun to drive in. And I am such a nervous passenger in the snow. I told Tyson to slow down the whole time, I couldnt even watch, he would just tell me to sit in the back and lay down and dont watch. HA. All I can say is I am SOO glad Iam not driving back. My poor husband has to go back earlier for work so I will flying and he will be driving.

Thought you should know...

This is a wedding I did the weekend before Christmas. I started working with this couple back in about April and from the time we started to what the actual centerpieces and bouquets looked like were nothing the same! I learned some valuable lessons and it was the largest wedding I have done yet! I mostly wanted to post these pictures to congratulate myself on being finished and to let you know just how much works goes into wedding flowers. At the time I didnt know how I would get all of it done or store it all. (See fridge picture) but I did! It was a great learning experience for me...Congratulations "Ow and Ko" Wedding.

She's a Hammond

Okay so sorry these pictures are so small, all the small ones are from someone elses cameras. Apparently I was too busy doing all the decorating and everything else to take pictures. I really should have taken more pictures on my camera though. Oh and if you were wondering, yes i did the bouquets and centerpieces!

Old Lady Lingerie

I dont know how to flip it around!

Crazy Lady!

Here is the Final Outfit, we had her hold the cat for extra affect.

Last weekend I went home for one of my Best Friends weddings, Amber. My flight came in on thursday, the night she was having her bridal shower. At first I thought my flight came in after and i was going to miss it and the day before i left i checked my flight information and realized i was going to make it to the shower after all! I am so glad i did. My mom came up with a great alternative to the gum/question game since its a little overdone. Instead of gum we had every guest bring a crazy or unusual item of clothing and every question she got wrong she had to layer on top of each other. The pictures done even do it justice, it was funnier than i would have ever thought and i would recommend it for every party ha! At the very end she picked a bag that had old lady lingerie and it was HUGE. She pulled it up on over leotards, oldman jumpsuits, fred flinstone costume, poodle skirt, goggles, santa hat, scuba gear, and everything else she was wearing. She was such a good sport about it too! I'll post the video of her actually putting it on. Best game I have ever played at a bridal shower!

Girls night out

Okay so this is a little out of order but I still wanted to post it. Thanksgiving seems likes forever ago already but on Thanksgiving night the outlet malls in Park City opened and Midnight and they were having awesome sales so the Wakley girls went on a little adventure. We only planned to be there a few hours and before we knew it it was like 3 AM! Alot of stores had stuff at 50% and we only made it into like 4 stores in 3 hours because there were so many people. I didnt think people were as crazy as us to go but apparently I was wrong. Oh and on the way back we got a little snow surprise too. I would post pictures from Thanksgiving but this is all I got.
